Nature’s Luteal Phase

DEATH + REBIRTH
My Favorite Season
There are so many beginnings and endings in this season. On September 23rd, we welcome the Fall Equinox which marks the beginning of perhaps my favorite time of year.
Last week we witnessed a New Moon, a beautiful time to set intentions for your next chapter. A powerful time to be in the rich darkness of it all.
In the seasons, Autumn is considered the “Luteal Phase” of the year. Summertime is Ovulation, Fall is Luteal, Winter is Menstrual and Spring is Follicular. If you know anything about menstrual cycles, you know that the Luteal phase calls for slowing down and turning in. Long walks, herbal tea, reading, resting. In the body, we prepare to shed. Just like the trees : ) Funny how we hold nature’s rhythms in our beings.
A few questions to ponder
+what am I celebrating and honoring from this past summer? How did I show up for myself and celebrate my uniqueness?
+how can I cultivate groundedness in my everyday routine?
+what am I bringing to life and what am I allowing to die off?
One last one:
Where can I loosen my grip?

Everyday Sacred is a beautiful collection of moments that changed author Sue Bender’s perspective on life. Highly recommend for a simple, earthly read (perf for this gorgeous fall season upon us).
Candles all day season is here. If you end up with 100% beeswax scraps from your beloved tapers, pillars or votives, send them to Alysia Mazzella and receive some recylced tapers made with love <3
