The Basics of Emotional Freedom Technique
Emotional Freedom Technique completely changed my life. In 2016 I was suffering from gut issues and hormonal imbalances that left me feeling insecure, unhappy and ungrounded.
As I began to work through these seemingly physical issues with a functional nutritionist, I remember the day I said to her, “I need more support, do you know of a therapist?” because emotionally, I was struggling (surprise!!!! it’s all connected!!!). She gave me a number, I went to therapy for just the second time as an adult, and my life began to change.
Emotional Freedom Technique or “tapping” is an easy and accessible somatic tool that relies on the idea that we hold emotions, memories and feelings in our bodies.
Below is a document I put together for the staff of the therapy practice where I am an intern. It’s the type of practice that has a frame, but also a lot of freedom in its delivery. I have developed my own intuitive way of walking folks through a tapping experience. I encourage you to give it a try and witness what shifts inside of you.
